Best self-tan lotion for a very pale girl?

I have extremely pale Irish skin and red hair, so I'm not looking to get tan per-say just a little bit of color for my legs. When I lay out in the sun for hours i'll get a little color (and tons of freckles...) on my upper body but nothing happens to my legs whatsoever. So I've decided to cave and look for a lotion to just give myself a little color. I'd really like to not look albino when I wear shorts, so please help! :) One I've been looking at is L'Oreal Body Expertise Sublime Light - Medium. Has anyone tried it? If so, how intense is the color change? I really am looking for something relatively subtle.
